Made by a dad who missed the real thing.
Veraila is chocolate hazelnut spread the way it should taste: lots of hazelnuts, real chocolate, and nothing you have to apologize for.
Where it began
I grew up in Turkey, where chocolate hazelnut spread isn't a trend. It's childhood. It was on the breakfast table, on bread after school, and in the kind of small moments you don't realize you'll miss.
Then I moved to the United States and went looking for that taste. What I found was a shelf full of jars with sugar listed first, palm oil right behind it, and hazelnuts barely making an appearance. It wasn't what I remembered. It wasn't even close.
So I did what any homesick person with a stubborn streak would do. I made it myself.
From my kitchen to yours
It started with small batches at home, then more batches, then more tweaking. More hazelnuts. Less sugar. Better chocolate. I kept going until one spoonful took me straight back to that table in Turkey.
When friends and family started asking for jars, I knew it was time to go bigger. I rented a commercial kitchen and took Veraila to local farmers' markets, where I could hand someone a spoon and watch their face. Those early customers shaped everything we make. Today, Veraila is on shelves and doorsteps across the country, but I still think of every jar as a batch from that first kitchen.
What we stand for
Hazelnuts first.
A hazelnut spread should taste like hazelnuts. That's the whole idea, and it's why they lead our ingredient list.
No palm oil, no shortcuts.
We skip the filler that makes other spreads cheaper to produce.
Simple enough to read.
If you can't recognize an ingredient, we don't want it in your jar.
The name
Veraila is named for my two daughters, Vera and Ayla. They're the reason I care so much about what goes on the table at breakfast, and the reason this brand carries my family's name in every jar. When you pick up a Veraila, you're getting something I'd happily give to my own kids. I do, every morning.
Thank you
Veraila began with one homesick kid-at-heart and a kitchen full of failed batches. Now it's in your kitchen too, and that means more to me than I can say.
Thank you for letting us be part of your mornings.
